It is a short-term meeting, lasting between 5 and 21 days, during which young people aged 13 to 30 come together to share, learn, exchange ideas, views and cultural backgrounds on important topics such as the environment, art and civic education. Participants must be from at least two different EU countries (and in some cases from outside the EU) and each national group has a group leader.
Activities are coordinated and implemented by trainers and educators, and they are based on principles of non-formal education and intercultural learning. For example, there are often dialogue and comparison activities, as well as workshops, role-plays and artistic and creative workshops.
In these moments of intercultural collaboration and peer learning, values such as solidarity, democracy and friendship are consolidated. In addition, the participants improve their linguistic and expressive skills through continuous interaction with foreign participants.

At Brújula Intercultural Association we act as a sending and hosting organisation for youth exchanges. Through the website and our social networks we inform about our opportunities.

Youth Exchanges are planned meetings in the framework of the European Erasmus Plus Programme which allow young people from different countries to meet, live together and work on common projects.
Youth Exchanges are FULLY FINANCED by the European Commission which covers the costs of food, accommodation and has a budget (which varies depending on the distance) for the reimbursement of travel expenses.
